THe Highlight of the year, and indeed in the whole history of visits paid to the Lea Valley, was the honouring of the Lea Valley by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, who, at her own request, made a tour of nurseries in the area.

After a comprehensive tour of glasshouses in the Cheshunt area Her Majesty attended a tea party which was given on the sports ground of Messrs. Rochford at Turnford.
