An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Glasshouse Crop Manager with at experience of protected edible crops such as Tomatoes, Cucumbers or Peppers.

Glasshouse Crop Technicians (Essex/Hertfordshire)

This work involves crop establishment, crop growth management/agronomy, disease and pest control, irrigation/watering/hydroponics, quality control, harvesting, storage and preparation/management of salad crops.

Namely Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Peppers, Aubergines.


Packhouse Operatives/Fork Lift & HGV Drivers (Essex/Hertfordshire)

This work involves the grading, packing and storage of crops using a range of machinery.

Working with quality control procedures linked to food production and health and safety ensuring produce meets market specifications.

Joseph Rochford Gardens Limited has an excellent opportunity for a graduate to join our graduate scheme in 2020.  The next applicant will be our third graduate to join our scheme.

The graduate will work in each one of our departments, ie production, customer orders, sales and accounts on a pre-planned rota system.

Applicants will also have an opportunity to attend shows and events and learn more about horticulture and the industry.  Rochfords is a happy place to work and this opportunity offers great development.

Joseph Rochford Gardens are pleased to be able to offer a Crop Technician Course to one lucky apprentice.  We will be using Colleges that either provide day release, or a scheme where apprentices will spend approximately one week every other month on an intensive learning programme, with hands on and classroom development.

Apprentices will be paid and when not on the residential course will be working on our nursery and gaining further knowledge and skills. 

This is a two-year programme and we are seeking candidates with at least five GCSEs at the equivalent of C and above.  The course will start in October 2020 but we would like to employ an apprentice, starting in Spring/Summer 2020.  If candidates are interested, please download an application form from our web site and forward it to
